Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, ex-chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. She is the host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark hairstyle and her pumped up personality, provides easy techniques anybody can learn. Chef Burrell is also a part of some of the top eateries located in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy as well as competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Early on, while living in the the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. Her passion was for working in the restaurant business by enrolment at The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable experience for me. It was difficult to master, do or work enough. After graduating Chef Burrell lived in Italy for a whole year attending classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) located in Tuscany. While in Italy she gained a profound appreciation and understanding of Italian cuisine and its culture. This is a huge influence on how Burrell approaches her cuisine. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef of the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists kids who have challenges. She is a frequent guest presenter at conferences, and she travels the country as part of her mentorship role. Anne in all her culinary journey has stated that it is a privilege to have the opportunity to share this passion for the food industry with people.
